T he Yama h a -mount ed Tu nn ell wasn 't fin ished just ye t, however; th e E u g en e, O r egon , r i d er later c ame back to win th e 125cc J un ior class , although he fai led to win eith er moto. Suzu k i -m oun t ed Cod y B u y a s, who had earlier won the Before The Hill Junior-class overall, was in co nt ention for the overall win in th is cl ass as well , but the 13 -y ear-old ha d his share of probl ems in m oto two, wh ic h was won by Doug McKuhn. T unnell scored the overa ll win via 2-2 placin gs, ahead of Buyas (1-6) and McKuhn (7 -1). Ka wasaki-mounted Mason Watson carded a win in th e Sup erm in i class o n Sa tur d ay , but Rooks tool a nd Huege's presence on Sund ay spell ed bad news for Wats on , as both rid ers releg at ed Watson t o third -p lace fin ishes in both motos. Watson net t ed th ird overall to Rooksto ol and Huege, but fin ish ed ah ead o f Rick y Wuor i and Aj ay Olinger. Leach had h is hands fu ll with Connaghan , David Mills, Ed Smith and Rob y Leach on the open ing lap of moto one , but Lea ch and Con na g ha n se p a rated th emse lv es from th e rest o f the field in th eir clash for su p rem acy . In the Up The Hill Junior class , Honda -mounted J ust in Jensen not ched a win ahead of Ryan Thompson, Matt Crawford and Devin Watson. Co nnaghan got the jump o n t h e field at the start of m oto two , and he enj oy ed th e lime light for several laps unti l Leach capi tali zed on an error by Conn aghan and took th e lead and m ain t ain ed it t o th e fi ni sh . Craw ford hel d off advances from Thompson and Jensen to pick up a wi n in the Junior portion, which earned the Suzuki rid er the overall win , ahead of Thompson , Jensen, Devin Watson and Huege . Rookstool 's day of domination showcased his except ional talents before a large ga llery of spectators , many of whom had never before seen th e 12 -year-o ld in ac tion . Rookstool went a perfect fou r for four with his 80cc ( 12- 13) and Supermini w ins , w ith on ly Ryan Hu eg e and Mason Watso n able to keep th e sou thern Oregon speedster in sight. Devin Watson darted out in front of t he large field of 125cc Junior con tes tant s at the start of moto one , and th e Suzuki rider lock int o that po si tion from st art to fi nis h, foll owed by Craw fo rd, J ensen and Thompson. In moto t w o , h o w ev er , Wat son was en tang led in a fi rs t -t urn me le e and even tually fi nished 16th .
