His con sistency throughout t he year is ke ep ing h im in contention for another Grand Championship as well. White and Tan ner each earned their best fini sh of the year at second a nd t hi rd overall , respectively . Cayer kept him self in co ntention , riding to third AA and fourth overall with a nine-poin t score. In race three , th e MT125 Hondas of Seaver and Ste inbeck made anoth er assault on the ranks of th e Formu la 250 class; th ey fin ished fourth and sixth , resp ectiv el y . Seaver and Steinbeck wer e back in action for rac e six, whi ch had t heir Fo rmul a 125 Hond as g ridde d behind the 350cc GP cla ss. Seaver took the win o n Sunday , ah ead of Glen Chris tianson , t o g o w ith a s econd -p lace fini sh on Saturday , behind Christian son' s Yamaha 200. Steinbeck picked up fo urt h place o n Sunday , bettering his fifth -place finish of the day before. With some ve ry crafty racing, Seaver led Christianson until lap fi ve; then he had to wa it for th e fi nal lap to recla im the lead and take th e win . In B attl e Of Th e Twins Formu la One compet ition, Suzuki joc ke y Scott Evans and Aprilia pilot Da vid Podol sk y virtually ran off and hid from the rest of the field . Pod olsky relinquished th e lead on lap tw o , and t ho ug h he was close to Evan s ' TLl 000 all the wa y , he was unable to make a move before the flag dropped.
