Just befor e th e end of th e la st lap, McCr ea passed AA SERA ri der Benn ie W aldrop , wh o too k third place in the AA di v ision and fifth ove rall. Th ere was quit e a bit of swappin g and falling duri ng the last sect ion of the t rail. B ot h A ll en and J oa c h im went down durin g thei r final battle for the flag. Joachim went down and got ta n g led in some vines, wh ile Allen spun out and battled with some trees. Gib so n followed 35 seconds later with no trouble, but Waldrop lost an overall placement in that section . McCrea p a ssed Wa ld rop and was try in g t o catch Gibson, but Gibson was 15 seconds ahead . Another quick pass was m ade by Team Gr een 's Harvey Whi t ta k er , who slipped into second p lace in the 25 0 cc/Open A clas s, pas sin g Pet er Bordes ju st bef ore th e ch eck ered flag .
