Facinq the sco rchi ng . 95 -degree heat and an all- new tr ack layout, th e 125cc Beginners staged at the gate. When the gate dro pp ed for the first moto, Tim Ca nby took the lead. fol lowed by Kun ath and Kam eron Sil va. Th e bat tl e betw een Ca nby and Kun ath pull ed th em aw ay fro m th e pack . Kunath , m erely at arm 's distan c e from Ca nby . couldn' t manage to pass th e leader, who was riding very de fensively . T he fi rst Fath er -and -Son race of the yea r prov ided a lot fun and laugh s. This race was for all the fath ers who tell thei r kid s, "If I had a bike like tha t when I was a kid. I would be as fast as McGrath ." The fathers had the o pportunity to sho w th eir kids how fas t th ey reall y are! Th e fathers wou ld ride one lap and then hand th e bik e to their child and let the m ride a lap , for a tot al of four lap s. A lso , non e of the participants - Cody and Bob by Espudo.
