• At the beginning of lap three of the 12-lap event, both Graves and Harrell - both of whom had started the race near the back of the grid emerged near the front of the pack. Meanwhile. a three-rider battle was under way for third. with Tony Meiring and Jacob West both challenging Toye. On lap eight, Wait drafted Graves down the front straight. West was third. A lap later, Toye passed West, only to be passed again by West a few turns later. On the final lap, Wait crashed in tum two.
