wasn't the fastest guy out there. I got some work ahead of me and I need to win some. I'm dying to get a win, because Roncada is gaining more and more confidence right now. I have a lot as well, because I'm in the points lead, but I just want to win a final." With his consistent string of second-place finishes, _Sellards holds a sUm points lead on the charging Roncada, 66 to 64, going into the first break of the series before the "big one" at Daytona, on March 11. "It's just frustrating not being able to win no matter what the reasons are," Sellards added. "I need to pick up some speed here and there and stop making little mistakes and work a little harder in the next few weeks. I've always looked forward to Daytona, that's what I call a man's race and I'm ready." Rounding out the podium was Dewitt, Michigan's Nick Wey. Piloting a SplitFire/Pro Circuit Kawasaki, Wey rode to his best finish of 2000 and was somewhat content with his ride after posting a pair of fifthplace finishes at the previous two rounds. Fonseca regained his composure and eventually crossed the finish line in fourth, but he was quite disappointed with his ride. "I just landed in the flat after the finish line and just lost the front wheel," Fonseca said of the crash. Roncada recorded his first win the previous week at Pontiac, Michigan, and he backed that up with a commanding win tonight on the loamy Georgia red clay for round three of the East Coast Series. (Five rounds of the Western Regional 125cc Supercross Series have been run so far.) "I got a good start, and we all know that usually I am not a good starter," Roncada said after the race. "I want this championship and I need to keep winning to get it. That's what I'm training for and hopefully it will happen. This feels real good, but I'm going to go home and train even harder, because I really want to win at Daytona." The 20-year-old French pilot cruised to an uncontested win after his teammate, and only challenger, for that matter, Ernesto Fonseca. went down in the opening laps.
