Hampton Coliseum Hampton, Virginia Results: January 28-29, 200& (Rounds 15 & 1& of 341 Demuth (46) leads Friday night's 125cc winner Denny Stephenson (3). Jr., from Hanover, Pennsylvania, scored the popular win over Virginia Beach's Devon Pilkington and Bedford's Davey Frazier. SATURDAY After making his presence known among the leaders during Friday's racing, Demuth came into Saturday's sold-out round fired up and ready to play. But the Texan didn't really get warmed up until after the 125cc main. Instead, it was the speedy Gonzalez who got the evening's mainevent racing under way with a win in the 125cc main over Antunez, Demuth, Stephenson and Buehl. Antunez put the pressure on Gonzalez right up to the checkered flag', but the Kawasaki rider held on for the well-earned win. Demuth finished just off the lead pace in third. In the Dash For Cash, where near- Iy $2000 was up for grabs, it looked as though Stephenson would take the loot, but Demuth had other ideas as he had a multiple-jump rhythm section dialed and made up time on the leader there, eventually passing Stephenson in that very section. Demuth held on to take the win, fol· lowed by Stephenson, St. Louis Pow· ersports' Greg Rand, Willoh and Buehl. The 250cc main got under way with Stephenson jumping out to the early lead, followed by Antunez. Mired in the middle of the pack was Demuth, but that wouldn't last for long, as he again began making up time in the rhythm section. He soon had Antunez in his sights and got him, then Demuth charged up to Stephenson and passed him in the exact same spot he did in the Dash For Cash race. Antunez saw the Friday 125 PRO: 1. Gonzalez finished out the race iIi fourth, his worst placing of the weekend, which really wasn't all that bad. Fifth went to Willoh followed by Blackfoot Motorsports' Doug Dehaan a-nd Ancae/R&S/One's Travis Hodges. Willoh was racing in some pain after suffering a get-off in the Extreme Freestyle Jump-Off. Failing to unwind from his trademark upsidedown whip, Willoh smacked the ground pretty hard, but the crowd appreciated his effort enough to cheer the Honda rider to victory over Demuth, Rand and Dehaan. Hackley made it a sweep in the 65cc Kawasaki class, winning again on Saturday night over Gregg Duffy Jr. and Dian Klinger.
