K&N Presents BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series Powered By Toyota
th two rounds already
in the books, Josh
Woods came to the
Denver Coliseum as
the man to beat, in the
K&N-presented BooKoo Arenacross
Championship Series Powered by Toyota.
The BooKoo Championship points
lead was in Woods' hands after he swept
night two in St. Louis during round two of
the 12-round series. Woods, racing for
the Fun Center/PPGrrroy Lee/Suzuki
team, has been filling in for Brad Hagseth,
who suffered injuries during round one
practice in Fort Worth, Texas.
However, in Denver it was two-time
former National Arenacross Champion
Josh Demuth who made a statement, and
grabbed a pair of main event wins
Saturday night to lift himself into the number one spot in front of Woods. Following
a somewhat confusing finish Friday night
when the race ran long and the field was
frozen at the 20-lap mark, Demuth, on
board the Babbitt Enxus Kawasaki, raced
to the top spot in both the 250cc and the
450cc mains on Saturday night, edging out
Woods by five points for the overall in the
Advanstar Series.
"I'm hungry for the championship,"
Demuth said. "It was my goal coming into
this series to win the championship and
put my bike on the podium each night.
The team has been great, the tracks are
great, the bikes are great, and the energy
in the pits gives me all the drive I need to
round up a championship by the end of
the season."
Woods had his share of problems
Saturday night, getting acquainted with
the Denver soil on more than one occasion, and had to settle for 12th in the
250cc main and 15th in the 450cc main.
The new Advanstar-promoted series
currently has four different leaders in the
points divisions: Josh Demuth holds
down the BooKoo Championship points;
Josh Woods is on top of the 450cc class
points; Babbitt Enxus Kawasaki's Brad
