Broadcasting on Speed Channel and CBS Sports, this year's television package gives fans complete coverage of the 17 races in the AMA Supercross class and AMA Supercross Lites class on both network and cable television, according to Clear Channel. "The consistent coverage of 2005-06 Amp'd Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series on network and cable television allows fans to stay in the loop on all of the race action throughout the season," said Ken Hudgens, vice president of marketing and television for Clear Channel Entertainment Motor Sports. "The support from both Speed Channel and CBS Sports is unprecedented, and we look forward to showcasing the sport in its largest television capacity ever." The 22 year-old rode a specially prepared KTM LC4 620 Rally in Baja after pre-running the course for two weeks prior to the event. During those two weeks, Blais prepared for the grinding stress of speed, sleep deprivation, mental strain and fatigue that riders face while competing in marathon off-road events. A team of mechanics, pit crews and doctors monitored Blais to ensure that he maintained a steady mental and physical condition throughout his 22-hour trial. He finished fourth in the pro motorcycle class - going solo while the others ran three or four man teams. Also preparing for the 2006 Dakar Rally is Andy Grider. Grider was part of the KTM Dakar Challenge held two years ago to choose the American Red Bull KTM Dakar Team, and was selected as the alternate. Grider will replace Kellon Walch on this year's team, with Walch out with serious injuries that will require downtime in order for him to regain his health.
