Motocross Series finale. With near-perfect weather and excellent track conditions, Hughes dominated both motos over J>4:!rennial class challengers Keith Sievers and Tim lindewall. At the snap of the old-school rubber-band starting system, Hughes rocketed into the tight left-handed first turn. Trailing close behind were Honda-mounted Lindewall and Husqvarnamounted Sievers. Negotiating t~e challenging course with nary a mistake, Hughes established a commanding lead by the third lap. Trailing behind, seemingly in formation, were Lindewall and Siever,;. By the white-flag lap, Hughes had established a firm lead, which he held to the checker,;, followed by Undewall and Siever,;. As if to prove the first mota wasn't a fluke, Hughes repeated his holeshot start in the second mota. This time, Sievers had the runner-up spot, followed by Undewall. Hughes' mastery of the challenging Amago circuit showed, as he totally dominated the second mota from start to finish. Behind him, Lindewall and Sievers duked it out for second place. Repeatedly passing and repaSSing each other throughout the mota, Lindewall finally made a pass stick and held on to clinch second overall, with Sievers finishing a strong third. The race action was also superb in Over ...0 GP Novice action. Once again, it was a red Honda taking the laurels. Ted Lindewall was the dominant force in this class, taking both mota victories in commanding style. At the start of race one, Penton-mounted Victor Monz grabbed the lead as the pack flew over the tabletop jumps on the front straight, heading into lap one. Close behind were Ted and the Suzuki of Dan Troesken. For almost four laps, Ted stalked Monz around the course. Ted finally made his move and got around Monz on the back half of the track. The fir,;t two spots remained the same until the checkered flag flew. Behind the lead pair, Tom McMichael passed Troesken to secure third in the moto. Troesken nailed the start perfectly for mota two. Nipping at his rear fender, however, was Ted, who was followed by Monz. By the end of lap one, Ted had craftily gotten around Troesken to take over first place. Behind him, Monz and Troesken sparred for the runner-up spot. By halfway, Ted had established an overwhelming lead. Putting in flawless laps for the remainder of the moto, Ted's overall victory was assured with his second-mota win. Behind him, Troesken and Monz continued to pressure each other in their private duel for second overall. When the checkers flew for the final time in 2005, Troesken held on to second place in the mota, but it was Monz winning the war with consistent second- and third-place finishes to secure second overall for the day. Troesken's hard work didn't go unheralded, as he secured the final podium spot, a mere one point behind Monz. RESULTS IROHMAN VINT NOV: I. Steve Caro (CZ); 2. Craig Walker (CZ). IROHMAN VI NT EX: I.
