The 500cc U.S. GP Motocross at Glen Helen was our cover story 30 years
ago. Eric Geboers, who had already clinched the title and had earlier
announced this would be the last race of his career, went out with the
overall win. He traded moto wins with Rick Johnson. Mike Kiedrowski
took the 125cc-class win... Scott Parker won the Indy Mile for the fifth
time... We covered the grand
opening of the Motorcycle Heritage
Museum. Special guests included
Jay Leno and Willie G. Davidson.

We featured test bikes on the cover of Cycle News 20 years ago, which
included the Cannondale MX400. We said, "It's not for everyone. It's a
strange, quirky, controversial risk-taker..." Ricky Carmichael clinched
the 2000 250cc MX title at Broome-Tioga Sports Center (Binghamton,
New York); Travis Pastrana won both 125cc motos... Joe Kopp won
the Sedalia Half-Mile... We covered the 3rd annual Buell Old Highway 40
Motorcycle Days at Donner Ski Ranch.
Speed addicts hit the salt flats at Bonneville 50 years ago.
Robert Forbes, Jay Leno and John Hasty participated in the grand
opening of the Motorcycle Heritage Museum in Ohio 30 years ago.
