200S AMP/GFI Dodge National/Suzuki Amateur Series iS year's Dodge National/Suzuki Amateur Series was busting at the seams, so to speak, as more than 1200 entries were filled out over the weekend, but only a few of the racers would be able to come away with class championships at the new-look Hangtown track. Some of those riders, however, were greedy and went home with two titles, such as standouts Rookie White and Conner Pearson. In the 50cc (4-6) class, White swept the Stock and Modified classes, while Pearson took the SOcc (7-8) Modified- and (4-8) Open-dass wins. Michael Maze, who is coming off a broken collarbone that prevented him from competing at Loretta Lynn's this year, got some revenge in the 6Scc (6-9) Stock and Modified classes. Simply put, he was unstoppable. KTM-mounted Jessy Nelson was also in a class all his own. Nelson won every 65cc moto that he started. Nelson also rode his new Suzuki in the 85cc class, where he was able to post one top-three finish. Blake Jump was the big winner in the 85cc (14-15) Stock class. He spent a good part of his day battling it out with Marcus Bradshaw, who would later take the 85cc (14-15) Modified-<:Iass championship. One of the highlights of the weekend was the Industry race, which saw local heroes Tallon Vohland and Steve Lannson sign up to do battle. Lamson would emerge victorious, with J. Whipple finishing right on his tail. Voland ended up third. T Many 125 and 250cc Pros wanted a piece of AMP's generous Pro purse, but nobody had anything for Rusty Holland in the 125cc class. He pretty much led from start to finish in both motos. In the 250cc class, it was Evan Laughridge who took the overall, while Holland had to settle for second.
