That's what happens when you win everything in sight, just as he did at the 29th annual Kawasaki Race of Champions in Englishtown. The Team Green/Monster Energy/Pro Circui backed rider faced formidable competition. such as Bromley Suzuki's Barry Carsten, and Rossini Racing Products' Damien Plotts and Ty Wallace, but he was up to the challenge and came away with the 125 and 250cc Pro-class wins. His stiffest competition, however. was NESC 125 and 250cc Pro number-one plate-holder Robbie Marshall. Chisholm got the job done in the 250cc Pro class with two come-frombehind rides on his KX250F, but he had it easier in the I25cc Pro class after getting better starts on the bike in the smaller-displacement division. "My KX250 is the best 250 out there, but it's hard to get the starts against those 4505," Chisholm said. "I had to make up starts all day, but I got it done." When all was said and done, Chisholm defended his 250cc tide and added the I25cc title with his four-mota win streak. In the 250cc Pro class, Marshall appeared to be the man to beat after grabbing the holeshot in both motos. He led more laps than the hardcharging Chisholm but eventually succumbed to the :lilam Green rider's relentless pressure. In mota one, Marshall led early on and seemed to have the measure of Chisholm when Marshall came up gh the pack and got behind him. Their duel pulled them farther away from the battle between Carsten. ~ and Wallace. In the end. Chisholm wore down Marshall and went to win the mota. Plotts. Carsten, Todd Wilcom. Ben r; Dave Ginolfi. Jason Harper, Wallace and Craig Dube followed them to the checkers. "I worked my way up through the pack pretty good. but there were a lot of lappers," Chisholm said. "I didn't see any blue flags out there the whole time, and I'm pretty sure I lapped into the top IO. I got it done, and that's all that matters. I'm ready for the next mota." "I had the holeshot and tried to push without using too much energy," Marshall said. "I felt like I had some more strength at the end of the mota. but... I've got to find a bit more speed in these next few motos." Mota two was an instant replay of the first mota, with Marshall leading again and Chisholm having to play catchup from behind. The riders up front swapped positions as in mota one, but Marshall put up a stronger defense for the all-important second and deciding mota. Chisholm was not to be denied. however, and halfway through lap 12 of 16 he made the pass for good. At the Rag, it was Chisholm, Marshall, Carsten, Plotts, Wallace. Dube, Justin Rando, Ritter, Matthew Boron and David K] Mota two was really more of the same. with only the supporting players changing positions behind the fast-disappearing Chisholm. Casey Clark clawed his way up from a mediocre start and into the top three by race's end, solidifying his top-10 overall finish, while Team Green's Mitchell Dougherty also ran up front, finishing fourth in mota two for fifth overall on the day. Team Green's Sean Hackley Jr. won the Ironman Classic over KTM's Zach Osborne. Hackley's trophy? A 2006 KX250F. Conspicuously absent from the starting gate for the first time was Pro Pilot Racing's Jim Kapitan and factory Husqvarna riderat tumed-youth minister Dave Kratz.
