Woods' victory dealt a crushing
blow to KTM's Kurt CaselU, who
had been on a roll after winning
the previous two rClUflds of the
series. At Honey Lake, however, the Michelin/Motorex!
Moose 250 MXC-rnounted
Caselli oouId manage only S/lNenth. And though he maintained
second In overaI points, the
ISDE Yeteran slid backward in
the points chase to Woods, whose
rnlIIJln 1110 eased to 219-176, unoIfldally.
"My anns pumped up really bad,"
Caselli said. "My wrist was Imd of buglng
me ~m that tendonitis or whatever. It's
been buggkw me all week since the ISDE
finished. 1 lust don't think I was I'l*ly. My
body's kind of tired, and I'm kind of tired."
Woods, on the other hind, ~
fully recovered from the injuries he'd suffered at the start of the summer break at

"I came back and felt like I could'w
won the last round in Utah, but I think my
conditioning was not up to par," he said.
"Getting second Is not anything to complain about, but when you feel you can
win the race, you're going \0 be disappointed, especially If you're a racer."
At Honey Lake, however, Woods
would settle for nothing but first,
"Today, I was on a mission; Woods
said. "I came on yesterday in practice, and
I felt that I was going to win the race. 1felt
good, my bikes worked good, everything
about it was lust going my way. When U.
happens, it's areat. It doesn't happen
way aU the time."

Caselli and Woods aIDed briefly over second place before Woods finally broke away
