Rocky Mountain ATV/MC World Off-Road Championship SErIEs &than Woods lOOk a h . step toward the defense 01 his number-one plate In the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC World Off-Road Championship Series, present-' jointly by DHI Racing and Zlp-lY Racing, with a win at round nine of the series at Honey Lake MX Park. After finishing off the podium in the last four rounds, Woods dominated the Honey Lake _ t aboard his Montclair YamahalZlp-Ty Raclng/Moose-sponsored VZ4S0F, topping runner-up Mike KIedrowski by 55 seconds. PrlvIlteer Bobby Garrison rounded out the podium on his Big Valley HondalMaxxislNo Fear CRF450R, finishing I minute and 9 seconds behind KIedrowski's FMF/Ounlop/ O'Neal RM·Z4S0, after running as far back as eighth during the early going. Woods' victory dealt a crushing blow to KTM's Kurt CaselU, who had been on a roll after winning the previous two rClUflds of the series. At Honey Lake, however, the Michelin/Motorex! Moose 250 MXC-rnounted Caselli oouId manage only S/lNenth. And though he maintained second In overaI points, the ISDE Yeteran slid backward in the points chase to Woods, whose rnlIIJln 1110 eased to 219-176, unoIfldally.
