the nearly 400 riders who showed up to race. The 125cc Expert class lined the gate for moto one, and when the gate fell, Yamaha-mounted Zack Blackwell made his way to the (ront, (ollowed by Honda of Houston rider Cory Green, Suzuki rider Ryan Voit, and Chris Drummond on his screaming YZ 125 two-stroke. As lap one ended, Green was putting pressure on Blackwell for the lead, while Drummond fought to stay with Voit. The battle for the lead went back and (orth (or the next (ew laps, but when the checkers new, it was Green in first, followed by Blackwell, Voit and Drummond. Moto cwo was a different story. The gate dropped. and it was all Green, as he powered his Reynard-tuned Honda 250F into turn one and never looked back. With the pack being so small, Blackwell was able to hang on to second without much o( a fight, leaving Voit and Drummond to battle for third - a battle which Drummond would win. In the 250cc Expert class, Green pointed his red 450 toward the first turn and just after the gate dropped he found himself in the lead, with the rest of the pack in hot pursuit. Once out (ront, and with a clear line of sight ahead, Green did nothing but push and push until he was way out front and clear o( any threats behind him. Meanwhile. Drummond and Blackwell were once again battling, while Voil made up for bad timing on the gate, running fourth. But when the checkers flew, Voit had moved to third, behind Blackwell and ahead o( Drummond. The victory went to Green. In the final Expert moto o( the day, Voit got 0(( to a great start, running elbow to elbow with Green into turn one. Green, however, had other plans, and he gave it more gas and proceeded to get away clean and ride his own race on a clear track. Voit, who looked confident and smooth in the final moto, rode Virtually all alone in second for the entire mota. When the final checkers flew, it was Green with the win, ahead o( Voit, Blackwell and Drummond. Also noteworthy was the two-mota sweep by Ashleigh Hall in the Women's class.
