What was the biggest thing that you Ieamed during
your time in Europe this summer?
Patience. Every motocross rider that I train with, and so
many riders in the U.S., just don't have any patience when
they're out on the track. They all want it now and, as soon
as they get behind someone, they want to pass them. Okay,
in enduros you aren't racing with other riders, but you have
to hit your line in every corner. Being wide open just isn't the
way to go. I learned to be so patient and ride at 80 percent.
I've found that by calming down, riding relaxed and hitting
my lines, I ride much, much better and faster.
Do you think that you'll be a better racer at home
in the U.S. with what you've leamed from the
WEC riders?
Yeah, I think I will. I know what to work on now when I
go out practicing at my house. The European riders tum so
well, which is what makes them so fast. Most good riders
can rail a berm or go through a rut well. but flat comers are
something different. European riders have great throttle
control on nat tums and off-
