ended up being a long, hot day. In the end, it was Northwest Honda Racing that coped with the heat and the distance the best, giving the team its third win of the season and extending its lead in the overall standings to 270 points over the superconsistent KNMotorcycles.com team. At the finish of the six-hour event, Northwest Honda Racing completed 177 laps over the 2.9·mile course on its Honda CBR IOOORR and finished with a three-lap margin over GMAN Racing. with KNMotorcycles.com another lap down in third. "It was a long day at Texas World," said Northwest Honda Racing's Ronnie Lunsford. "Basically, everybody had tire problems and went through a lot of tires. But we just maintained. We went through a lot of tires and a lot of riders, but we didn't have any major problems, and that was the key." GMAN Racing claimed second overall after moving up from a second-row start. The Kawa.saki ZX-9R-mounted team members thought that they had blown any chance at a good finish after running out of gas early on, but worked their way back up with steady and consistent laps to claim the runner-up position. ''A lot of the top teams were having problems, and guys kept hitting the pavement," said Michael Guillot of GMAN Racing. "Apparently, a lot of teams had tire issues. We went through two rears and two fronts, so it wasn't too bad for us. However, we lost two laps when we ran out of gas. but we ended up working our way back up to second, so we were pretty happy with that." Third overall and first in the C Superstock class went to KNMororcycies.com, riding a Vamaha YZF-R6. The K&N bunch has been very consistent all year (in addition to being rast), and the proor is in their standings in the series overall points race. They are second place in the overall standings, and they also lead the C Superstock standings by 2S I points over Lone Star track Days, which finished 12th overall and third in class at TWS after assorted problems, including a crash by Jeff Grant. The Project Mayhem riders had positioned themselves for a great finish, moving their Suzuki GSX-R I000 up as high as second in the fifth hour, but a crash in turn eight dropped them to an eventual 26th overall. 2Wheelz.com finished fourth overall and third in the Formula One division with a consistent race on their Suzuki GSX-R7S0, while Desert-Rats.net won the A Superstock class with a fifth· overall finish after pitting early with tire problems. Little Britches Series Holeshot Motocross Race Beal, Thomas Holeshot MX 1:& ENKINS LORANGER, LA, JULY 30 o1eshot grew down. While most of us grow up (or at least older), Holeshot went down to the kids, as it just completed a three-race series for SOcc-8Scc bikes called the "Little Britches." After the awards banquet, many of these kids dived in for the regular Saturday night racing and found the water just fine. The youngest class even had training wheels on their bikes. The Open Beginner class had a good mix of characters, including the 18-year-old Sedille twins. Kurt Sedille jumped out early on his Yamaha, with Honda rider Howard Beal and Suzuki jockey josh Klienpeter evenly spaced behind him. Kevin Sedille had to settle for fourth at the checkers. but in the pits he announced things would be different in the second mota. Beal posted his first victory by winning the second moto and the overall. The "battle of the twins" never materialized, as the Sedille boys both suffered poor starts. Kurt was able to push his Yamaha through the pack to garner second with his 1·2 finishes, in front of K1ienpeter (3-S) and Matt Shelton (6-3). Jacob Parsons got fifth with his S--4 score, in front of Kevin Sedille (4-6). Another pair of brothers made their debut in the 8Scc Beginner dass. Patrick and justin Lockhart. justin crashed at the start of the fi~t mota and had to be carted off on the four-wheeler, but he came back to post a third in the second moto. Patrick rode to third place in the first moto, behind Cody Thomas and Dakota Smith. Thomas rode his KTM to a double mota victory in the 85cc H Cycle News is perfect for everyone.
