Memoli flew his Honda of Houston/Shift/Scott/EVS-sponsored Hondas to victory in the I25cc and 250cc Intermediate classes. as well as the Four-Stroke Open class. Memoli quickly made his way to the front of the pack in the opening 250cc Four-Stroke moto but went down on lap two and found himself back in fifth. Brett MounGtin inherited the top spot and ran out front until Memoli caught and passed him just prior to the white flag's unfurling. Mountain finished all by himself in second place, ahead of Adann Lane, Nick Tokarski and Tyler Pierce. Memoli made short work of the pack in moto two, as he absconded with the holes hot and pulled out to a comfortable IS-second lead at the checkers. Mark Brewer and Garrett George chased each other up through the field and ended up going at it over second place on the last lap until Brewer overshot a turn, handing the position to George. George's 6-2 score just edged out the 3-5 tally of Lane for second overall. Pierce (5-4) and Brewer (7-3) rounded out the top five. George nabbed the holeshot in the opening 12Scc Intermediate contest, but his lead was short-lived, as Memoli went by within a few turns and pulled away. George went the distance for runner-up honors, ahead of Kevin Wageman. Benny Breck was a close fourth, with Tony Prince getting around Mountain on the last lap for fifth. Breck did manage to keep Memoli honest during the first couple of laps of the second I25cc Intermediate mota until Memoli upped his pace and walked away. George challenged Breck and got by just past the midway point to go 2-2 on the day. Breck's 4-3 score got the better of Wageman's 3-4 tally for the third-place trophy. Breck and Memoli returned to do battle early in the first 250cc Intermediate race, with Memoli inching away for good. Sean Bailey claimed third, ahead of a good battle for fourth 52 JUNE 22, 2005 • CYCLE NEWS between Anatol Kozlowski and Justin Reese that ended up in Kozlowski's favor.
