VortexlToolshed's Brien Whitlock (the most Improved rider In
the series) led into tum one, followed by Cameron Welsh, joker

Jusl before entering the dirt seclion, Trachy struck the back of
Welsh's machine and went down hard. While Trachy sal
trackside, dazed, the race conllnued with Whitlock up fronl,
Ross now in second and Currie in Ihlrd. Welsh, dazed himself,
recovered in fourth.
By lap fIVe of 10, the front thnee were all together. Then, on
lap six, Ross and Currie both put a move on Whitlock and went
by. Meanwhile, Welsh and BRP's johnny Nicoll sat in fourth and
fifth, waiting. just after the white flag. Currie went up the inside of
Ross down the back straight to take the lead. Then, in the dirt for
the final time, Ross went down hard, causing Whitlock to crash as
well and Welsh to jump the berm off the traek to avoid the mess.
That made the finishing order Currie, Welsh and Nicoll, with

number-one plale.
In the Open Expert event, presented by joker Machine,
Trachy was on a mission. Heat-race winner Micky Dymond, the
factory KTM/AII Access pllOl, was helpless against Trachy's
determination. Trachy even lowered his best lap time to one
