elebrating its 13th year, the Thor/Parts
Unlimited Northeast Classic Motocross
Series is the premier motocross series of the
Northeast. Round one is one of the earliest
events on the AMA District 6 calendar. Rider
turnout was good, with more than 400 riders
signed up for bar-banging action on the extremely fast and technical Doublin Gap racecourse.
The Ventzers, promoters of Doublin Gap
MX Park, prOVided a perfectly groomed
racetrack for the entire weekend, which
featured practice on Friday aftemoon, a warmup race on Saturday, and the series' opening
round on Sunday, the official first day of spring.
Casey Clark had an exceptional day in the
I25cc Pro/Expert class. Jeremy Cook led the
pack into the first turn in the first moto, with
Todd Wilcom, Michael Foor, Denick Wile and
Clark trailing. Cook quickly gapped Wile by
three seconds. Cook increased that gap to four
seconds by lap three. Meanwhile, Wile passed
Foar to claim third on lap three. Clark then
relegated Foor to fifth. Clark picked it up and
charged after Wile, who was relegated to
fourth by Clark on lap four. Clark then
relegated Wilcom to third on lap five. Clark set
out after Cook but simply ran out of time.
Cook took the win; Clark. Wilcom, Foor and
Wile rounded out the top fIVe.
RRP's Damien Plotts led the start of the final
moto and went wire to wire for the win after
tallying a DNF in the first moto. Clark, Cook,

where, after winning his semi, placed a very
respectable IBth in the 250cc main event.
At Doublin Gap, Clark led the pack out of
the first turn in the first 250cc Pro/Expert
moto, with Plotts. Greg "Frenchie" Pamart.
Wile and Wilcom in tow. Plotts passed Clark
for the point early; then the two quickly
gapped the rest of the field and sailed away to
the checkers, finishing one-two. Plotts' margin
of victory was four seconds. Wilcom, Pamart,
and Wile rounded out the top fIVe.
In the final outing, Clark again led the start,
with Plotts in tow. This time out, Clark made it
to lap three before being passed by the bigbore Honda thumper pilot. The two again set a
blistering pace and finished the second moto
with a IS-second gap back to third place. Wile,
Cook and Pamart rounded out the top fIVe.
Plotts topped the podium with his perfect
