or a second year, the RMXA visited Big Timbers Motocross
Park in Lamar. Bobby Fitch ended up first in both the Open
Pro and 12Scc Pro classes. The Yamaha rider liked the track a
lot because it was a fast, technical one. He has been riding for
19 years and racing for 16. He claims to be the youngest kid in
history to be a Pro, at 13. Fitch is sponsored by Vickery Motorsports, Kevin and Gene Simpson, and Shotgun Willy's.
Although Fitch won the race, he did not snag the holeshot
when the morning Open Pro race began. Dalton Dimick took
the number-one spot at the pack turned the first corner. Fitch
didn't wait long to take the pOSition, though, passing Dimick
before the end of the first lap. Rick Stichter took the third-place
spot for the first two laps. By the third lap, Ryan Rozinski had
joined in the action, settling into the third-place spot. Fitch,
Dimick and Rozinski were the top three for the morning mota.
The afternoon mota began a little on the strange side. Ryan
Thompson, a non-Pro rider, took the holeshot. It wasn't long
before Fitch took the front pOSition. Stichter snared the
second-place spot by the end of the first lap. Thompson held his
own, riding in third. On the second lap, Vinny Ramirez passed
Thompson for third. By the end of the third lap. FilCh held the
lead by a long shot, with Stichter following in second, battling
with Ramirez, but Ramirez won that battle and took second,
while Cody Boyd also got by Stichter. By the end of the fourth
lap, it was Fitch. Ramirez and Boyd. It was a tough battle, but
they finished the race in those poSitions.
Overall. Fitch proved that his appreciation of the track and
his great riding skills pushed him to the top of the standings.
Fitch definitely went big this year at Big Timbers!
