The weather was great for racing, with the sun shining and temperatures in the 70s. Almost 400 riders came to battle on this sandy, supercross-style track. The first moto of the day was for the 250cc B class. Nicholas Mackie took the holeshot, followed closely by Tiffany. The two began to pull away from the rest of the pack. Halfway through lap two, Tiffany made his move in the deep sand in the back section to take the lead on the outside of a comer. The two continued to keep their distance from the other riders, with Tiffany pulling away (rom Mackie to take the moto win. Philip Hewett started third but slipped to fifth at the end, giving up third and fourth to Zach Fiorina and Jordan Marlin, respectively. Tiffany won moto two as well, on his Yamaha. Mackie, Fiorina and Marlin rounded out the top (OUf. Jacob Priest completed the top five. The 16-24 class took to the track for its first mota, with Russell Clay leading the pack. Tiffany, Hewett, Bradley Bernier and Troy Snyder rounded out the top five. Tiffany made the pass for the lead by the second corner. It was all Tiffany for the remainder of the mota. Snyder moved up to third, with Bernier and Jon Boydston in tow. The three crept up on Clay toward the end of the mota, but the four stayed the same to take the checkered flag. Tiffany scored the win in mota two, and Fiorina followed home in second. Taylor McDonald held off Clay and Bernier for third. The fastest rider on the day was Barry Carsten, visiting from New Jersey. The National and Supercross rider was in town for Bike Week. and he took the wins in the 125cc A, 250cc A and Over 30 classes. Carsten battled with Paul Perebijnos in both 12Scc A matos, taking the win over the Honda rider each time. in the first 250cc A moto. Shawn Mayo got the holeshot and led for most of the first lap. Then Carsten passed him on the last corner to take over, and he never looked back. Mayo slowty faded, eventually finishing fifth. Perebijnos moved into second on lap two, but Carsten had just enough of a lead that Perebijnos could not catch up. Neil Farlow from Ontario, Canada, moved by Roy Uetz and Mayo to take the last podium spot. The second moto was more of Carsten taking his Suzuki to the win. Farlow battled with Perebijnos to take second. Billy Wood finished a much better fourth after a disastrous first mota. Joshua Hildebrand rounded out the top five. Three other riders scored two class wins. Cannon Pixley and Kyle Goerke swept all their matos, with Cannon topping the 65cc (10-1 I) and 65cc Open classes and Goerke topping the Junior Mini (9-13) and 85cc (12-13) classes.
