On this day, the Hahm Motorsports rider would attempt something never accomplished by anyone else in the STTARS series: to win three different main events. By 2 p.m., 164 entrants had completed 12 heat races, the grids were posted, the conditions were superb, and the stage was set. The Factory Pro Racing 250cc main was Trachy's first shot at this triple crown; his weapon of choice, Pete Bothwell's Kawasaki 250. Ofr the line, American SupercamplWhite Brothers' CD. Howell took the point and led into Jason's Corner (turn one). Axo/Suomy's Frankie Garcia ran second, stepping it up a notch, with Trachy in third. just before the end of lap one, Trachy pushed past Garcia; however, Garcia came back and showed Trachy a wheel in turn one, but he couldn't make it stick. On the second trip down the back chute, Trachy drove around the outside of Howell to take the lead away. Meanwhile, Garcia was closing on Howell as well, while Bridgesrone's Ryan Ferris ran fourth, well off the pace. On the next trip through tum one, Garcia came in too hot, causing both Garcia and Howell to go down. This allowed Ferris and Maxima's Ian Foulds to move into second and third. Foulds made a move on the back straight to take second away, making the finishing order Trachy, Foulds and Ferris. Oxtar Boots' Justin Ross nailed the holeshot in the Open Expert main, presented by joker Machine. Wheel Wright'S Cameron Welsh ran second, but not for long, as this was Troy Lee Design's Trachy's second chance at a victory, and he wasted little time on Welsh. Nicoll Racing's johnny Nicoll, looking better all the time, ran fourth, with Joker Machine's Foulds fifth in his first ride on a new KTM. Trachy was knocking so hard on Ross' door, it's a good thing he's made of steel. Ross held Trachy at bay for 2 1/2 laps and was the only other rider to go under one minute and four seconds, at one minute and 3.88 seconds. Once clear, Trachy cruised to his second victory. With the newest member of the Trachy Tribe (Gary's new daughter, Mia) in attendance, how could her daddy disappoint and not take the 450cc main victory? The biggest difference from the Open class was that Ross, Welsh, Nicoll, Brian Whitlock and speedway legend Billy Hamill were all up front for the first half a lap, with Ross leading the way. Trachy, who got away in fifth, turned his fastest lap of the day in this class, at one minute and 3.22 seconds. Trachy went on to win, with Ross a solid second and Welsh third. At this point, Trachy has already wrapped Gary Trachy is on his way to the 0r.en Expert victory - his third main-event win of the day in Apple Valley, California, site of round four of Don Canet's snARS Three Brothers Racing Winter Series. up the Winter Series championship.
