Money class. Smooth as glass, this youngster rides like a Pro.
Sponsored by KLH Racing Presents, Bonsey was first off the
start line and first to the finish. Behind him, there was plenty of
bumping going on in the battle for the third spot, as Chris
Canepa and Joseph Hernandez diced throughout the race:
Canepa took third, behind runner-up Shawn Raggio.
Mer walking away with the Vet A heat race, Clay Chambers
finished the main event in the fourth spot. Chambers, winner of
the District 35 2004 Vet black plate in this dass, also won the Vet A
high-pointlTOphies in both the summer and winter series of 2004.
Chambers got the radng bug when he was I I, watching Dick
Mann and Ricky Graham on the San Jose Mile. When he convinced
his mother to sign the waiver so he could race, he was lucky
enough to learn and ride with Jerr Lowe, Ricky Graham, Ron
Bereman and other local California dirt trackers. After years of
riding, substance abuse took Chambers away from racing. In
November of 1999, he began his I~e anew with the beginning of his
sobriety. Upon his return to the dirt, aboard an ATK Rotax,
Chambers found Club Moto in Livermore, California. Pushin' the
cushion was Chambers' first love. Finding Clements Rodeo
Grounds races was another blessing, as was finding the Tulare
track. It took most of the 2003 season for him to get acquainted
with the new Rota>< he purchased from Nick Moore. Chambers
says he enjoys the "spiritual feeling" he gets when he's on a cushion
track and appreciates that as much as winning. Grateful to be back
aboard a steel horse, running it in deep in the cushion at the
Chowchilla Barn Burner summer and winter series, Chambers
thanks God, his parents, his sister Twister, and his number-one
woman, Alma, for their support, as well as MGN·Sureway Trucking
for his new leathers and Tuff Plates for his new number plates.
Chambers celebrated his second Chowchilla championship
five years to the day from the day he began to win his baule
with drugs and alcohol. His dream of a lifetime was fulfilled
when he received his number-one plate from Diaz
Motorsports' Chowchilla Barn Burner Series while marking five
years of sobriety.
