The Motoplex Durivage is Dynamite Indoorsl BY BART NEWMAN LA OTTO, IN, DEC. 19 reg Durivage didn't let the cold weather outside cool him down inside; he was on fire, nailing down four wins in four tries to claim victories in both the 12Scc Band 12Scc Junior classes at La Otto, Indiana's Motoplex. When the gate dropped for moto one of the G 12scc B class. Durivage popped off the concrete starting pad and put his Championship Powersports/MCR Suspension-backed CRF2s0 into turn one first, followed by Ronnie Hapner, Josh Lobreeto, Andy Ecker and Jacob Miller. Durivage opened up a quick lead heading down the back straight, putting together solid first lap out front, while the riders behind him were jockeying for pOSition. Lobretto got by Hapner on lap three, tucking under the Kawasaki pilot in the left-hander heading for the finish line. Durivage was enjoying a good lead over Lobretto, who has been burning up the indoor facilities all year and currently leads the 12Scc B and 16-24 classes. Hapner held on to third, with Ecker fourth. Travis King displaced Miller on the last lap to take fifth. Moto two was another Durivage benefit, as he once again led the pack through turn one and never looked back. Hapner and Lobretto 52 renewed their moto-one rivalry and were trading positions as well as paint all over the track during the first three laps. Ecker and Miller were also in a fight, although Ecker appeared to have the upper hand, as Miller was never able to finish a pass, despite his best efforts. When the checkered nag came out, it was Durivage in a runaway win (his second of the night), which meant the overall was his as well. Hapner won his battle with Lobretto, which also meant he had the runner-up spot overall. Lobretto was third. Ecker and Miller rounded out the top five spots. The two fastest kids in the 6scc (7-9) class were Connar Troyer and Joey Hale, and they lined up elbow to elbow in moto one. The race was on as Troyer pulled Hale and Carl Westgate through turn one. Troyer, who hails from nearby Fort Wayne, Indiana, was riding well, and he opened up a slight cushion over Hale as the moto progressed. Hale held his own but couldn't match Troyer's speed and had to settle for the runner-up spot. Third went to Westgate, who rode well enough to hold off the charges of Noah sharff and John Junkin. In moto two, Troyer once again got out front early and stayed there for the win and the overall. Try as he might, Hale couldn't dose the gap and finished second again, for second overall. Austin Breymaier finished third in moto two, improving on his first-mota score by three, while Sharff was fourth again, but his 4-4 efforts were good for third overall. RESULTS 50 SHAFT: I. Toys For Tots Hare Scrambles Diamondback SportsCenter The Snow :'~:~il:lJtFliesI RESACA, GA, DEC. 19 espite snow flurries and a wind~chill factor in the 20s, Diamondback put on another successful run of the Toys For Tots Hare Scram· bles. When it came down to it, the riders just D layered up and pulled through in the frigid weather, and they did what they came to do. An upcoming star, Kawasaki jockey Christian Snow, once again went home with another firstplace trophy for the Senior Minis. Snow is an avid motocross rider who is adding woods and trail racing to his list of talents. Another of the highlights of the event was the performance of Suzuki rider Gregory Roberts. He blasted through the woods and handled the slippery field section with ease. Hitting almost every jump on the track with perfect precision and shOWing off his skills on the 90-foot tabletop, he came out on top of the 200cc B class. One of the shining veterans in this big event Woodland MX Park was none other than Honda pilot Dale Williams, It's a Wonderful Race for Bailey, By Georgel who raced hard and fierce to take home a firstplace trophy in the Super Senior B class. Although the weather was against them, everyone refused to let the cold winds and icy ground keep them from enjoying another great race in Resaca. By JUSTIN WHARTON WOODLAND, WA, DEC. 19 eautiful weather greeted the more than 500 riders who came out to race at the last Woodland event of 2004. In fact, the classes were chock-full, and the racing was exciting. Almost 30 riders lined up for the start of the 2S0cc Amateur class, but only one would end up with the first-place trophy. Rising to the occasion was Matt Brauer, who rode his two-stroke CR2S0 through hordes of four-strokes to take the overall win via 2-1 motos finishes. After winning the first mota, Jon Blake didn't have much luck in the second mota and had to settle for second overall on a 1-5 tally. Pete Medcalf B (5-4) took third, Ryan Jones (3-6) finished fourth, and R.D. "Whip" Hall (4-7) took fifth. Yamaha rider Todd Burchett won the hotly contested Over 30 Amateur class, sweeping both motos. Fellow Yamaha pilot Jones trailed Burchett in both motos to take second. After a poor first moto, in which he finished sixth, Clark Moore came out swinging in the second mota and took third, which was good enough for third overall. Women's rider Traci Fleming put a whup ping on a lot of guys and took the fourthplace pOSition with double fives. Rounding out the top five was Todd Risner (4-6). With almost as many riders as the Over 30 class, the Over 40 Amateur class saw some good racing. Stuart Bailey was on fire, as the Honda rider dominated both motos to take the win. Tim Johnson used consistency to take second overall via 3-3 moto finishes. Taking third was Don Taurman (2-5), and Craig Ostman (4-4) took fourth. After a terrible first mota, YZ2s0Fmounted Ray Kelly charged in the second moto, and his efforts were good enough to earn him the final top position on a 9-2 score. The Women's class was dominated by Fleming, who won both motos with ease. Her only true competition was I S-year-old fEBRUARY 9, 2005 • CYCLE NEWS Samantha Petrich, but Petrich was still a little off of Fleming's pace and had to settle for second with a 2-2 tally. Lisa Moore (4-3). Clark Moore's Wife. took third. Cassidy Bragg (3-4) took fourth, and Mikey Doss (5-5) took fifth. RESULTS 50 BEG: I. Trevor Asbjornsen (KTM): 2. Abby Weiler (KTM); 3.
