The course was on the shorter side - less
than SO actual ground miles. As with most
clubs, land issues are a problem. When the
scores were counted, four riders had tied witt"l
a score of 16: Jason Chancey. Stephen
Edmondson. Russell Bobbitt and Daniel
Morrison. When the tie breakers were tallied, it
was Edmondson coming out on top, followed
by Bobbitt and then Chancey. Mike Melton
dropped IB to claim the overall A spot.
The first section started off fast but quickly
turned tight and nasty. The top riders all
dropped two points.
Kendall (left) and Blane (right) Mason together pulled off a four-class sweep
at round 23 of the Alabama Championship Series
at Monster Mountain Motocross Park.
Alabama's Ross Oi Giorgio placed fourth with a
(4-4) tally.

Pike Road rider, third-placed Corie Barbee, led
three Suzuki riders to the finish: Alex
McWilliams. Chase B. Lee and Dunkin Allred.
McWilliams briefly led moto two before
Kendall passed him for another win. By race's
end, McWilliams had only surrendered one
more position, and his 4-3 score edged Barbee's
3-5 finishes for third overall and top Suzuki.
Kendall easily outpointed the field in the
125cc B class. He got the jump out of the gate
in moto one and was never headed. Lascassas,
Tennessee's Hubert Rowland was able to keep
him in sight and placed second on his Honda.
Roark put his red machine in third, ahead of
Herring. Barbee made it four Hondas in the top
five with his fifth.
Barbee and Reese came around the first turn
ahead of Kendall in moto two. Reese kept his
RM in second for half a lap before yielding to
Kendall on the hump after the Stairway. Next,
Kendall reeled in Barbee and passed him over
the triple in the middle of the track. Barbee
slipped to sixth when he cross-rutted and went
off the track. After placing seventh in moto one,
Reese's second-place finish advanced him to fifth
overall. Rowland's 2-4 score was just enough for
second overall. ahead of Herring (4-3) and
Roark (3-5).
