Class champians and runners-up were recently honored at the 2004 Carolina Ultra Series awards banquet held at the Appalachian Fairgrounds in Grey, Tennessee. Parts Unlimited Carolina Ultra Series Awards Banquet: Appalachian Fairgrounds The Ultimate Ultra Finale Bv CINDV GIBSON GREY, TN, NOV. 13 T he Parts Unlimited Carolina Ultra Series wrapped up its season, Victory Sports hosted its year· end banquet in honor of the series winners, and 136 participants successfully made it into the top nve in their respective classes after completing the required minimum of eight races out of the 12·round series. The tour included stops in North Carolina (Devil's Ridge, Top Gun, Parker Valley), South Carolina (Camp Coker, Sand Hills), Virginia and Tennessee (Muddy Creek, Smoky Mountain MX). The top companies that awarded thousands of dollars in contingency included Pans Unlimited, Thor, FMF, Liquid Performance, Pro CirCUit, Scott USA and Dunlop. Kevin Walker topped the 12Scc Pro, 2S0cc Pro and Over 30 A classes with first-place championships in each. Runner.up in the 125cc Pro class was William Bryant, who was just 18 points ahead of Jason Wiley in third. Bryant and Wiley also accepted second and third, respectively, in the 250cc Pro class. Bryant completed nine rounds of the series. whereas Wiley attended eight. In the Over 30 A class, Walker's podium partners included William Liles and Frank Koenig. Competition remained tight throughout the season in most classes. Fifteen of the 36 classes had "full gates," with five series winners in each. Kyle Hepner took the championship in the 125cc C class, but only 15 points separated first through fourth: Thomas Snow, Mike Lucas and Josh McCall. Roy Mitchell accepted fifth place. Pee Wee champions included Devin Culbreth in the 50cc (4-6) class and Dylan Carringer in the 50cc (7-8) class. 8randon Spittle accepted the tallest trophy in the 50cc Oil·Injected class and escorted Corbin Bruce and Lucas Hargrove up to the stage for their respective second· and third-place awards.
