Richards handed Jeremy White second with a the top three riders in each class who earned points for top finishes at Broome-Tioga Sports Center in Binghamton, New York, and Hurricane Hill Sports Center in Clifford, Pennsylvania. Twenty-three classes were honored for the Hurricane Hills and 22 classes were honored for Broome-Tioga. Classes at both tracks cover a wide spectrum of equipment. ages and rider ability. Hurricane Hills falls into the AMA District 6 geographical region; Broome-Tioga is in District 3. The top three riders in each class received some way cool fleece pullovers embroidered with their respective track logo, and the rider's first name, class and place finished. Each rider who earned top honors in more than one class received a jacket. Additionally, High Points Awards honored top riders in the categories of High Points Youth, Amateur, Expert and Veteran. High Points Award winners received beautiful 4·foot trophies for their efforts over the 2004 race season, and the names of all series class winners were placed into a drawing for a Honda CRFSO minibike; Suzuki pilot Sean Wallace was the very lucky winner. Master of ceremonies and track announcer George Denke led the festivities, as well as the presentation of awards and the draWing for some very cool door prizes that ranged from Scott banners and goggles to Dunlop tires and T-shirts. Denke thanked each track's staff on behalf of Tom and Peggy Hurd, mentioning each by name and asking each to stand and be recognized for their outstanding work throughout the season. Co-announcer and track chaplain Kevin Kruger gave the evening's benediction. The evening's guest speakers were two former National Champions. Team Suzuki's Tony Di Stefano and Team Kawasaki's "Jammin' Jimmy" Weinert described what it was like to race back in their day, comparing those times to the current state of the sport, and gave advice to both riders and parents on what expectations they should have, what goals they should strive for, and, of course, noted that the best advice in motocross is simply to have fun racing - when it stops being fun, it's time to try another sport. Denke then thanked longtime track supporters Tony D. Motocross Schools, BoyesenfTwin Air, Binghamton Honda, North American War Horse, Conklin Cycle Center, Ithaca Recreation, Pro Action Suspension, Scott USA, Sponsorhouse.com, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Parts Unlimited and Sanders Motorsports, to name just a few of a long list of dedicated sponsors. The banquet featured a cocktail hour, a buffet dinner, and an awards presentation, and dancing finished out the festivities. The Hurds gave a very special thank-you to those who helped out in special ways throughout the season, including the Wallace, Zabrowski, Peregrin, Reynolds, Henry, Newby, Cheney, Keefe, Kosik, Sobiech and Colachino families, as well as and Hurricane Hills' electrician, John Yaron.
