Dakota Wheaton and "The Cananda igua Com et ." Louis Saxby. were whee l to whee l off the start, with Saxby gaining a slight edge over Wheaton and Zach Hard ing, w ho was looking strong in th ird. Christopher Richardson and Dalto n Phillips due led it out over fourth, slightly ahead of an express tra in com prised of Corey Trietley. Nex Stone. Dillon Arno, Cameron Ellington, Ryan Fregoe, Ben Gates and Shelby Fiaco . when Saxby slipped up while cornering. Wheaton gassed it and made a slick pass (or the lead. Harding went to wor k on Saxby for second. Phill ps had a firm grip on fourt h by now. but i Richardson was under the gun (rom Stone , Triedey and a fastcharging Ellington. How ever, Ellington washed out , and then Wheaton wrung it out en route to the win. over Saxby. Hard ing. Phillips and Richardson . Stone, Trietley, Ellington . Amo and Fregoe bagged toplO finishes. Moto two was a thri ller-chiller, as tempe ratures plumme ted down into the 40s , but what bette r weather could o ne hope (or on Hallowee n in weste rn New York State? This mota was deja vu all over again, as Saxby again led Wheaton and Ha rd ing through tum one, with Richardson and Phillips going at it bar to bar over fourt h. The big question was whe ther or not Saxby could ho ld off Wheaton and Hard ing for th e w in a nd first overall. Wheaton was looking inside and out for a way arou nd Saxby as the spooktacular crowd cheered these young racers onward. Phillips aga in passe d Richard so n and wen t after Harding , w hile Stone pulled bar to bar w ith Richardson and the ir battle was on again. Saxby was now busy weaving his way through lapped traffic. Trietley had won " Best of Show " in the OneWest Clo th ing/AreaS I Motocross Hallow een Pa rty the night before , but he ran out of tricks and treats trying to break back into the top five , battling with Stone . Saxby took the win, and his 2-1 treated him to first overall. Wheaton ( 1-2) got slimed but took second overall (or his outstanding efforts. Hard ing's consisten t 3-3 tally bagged third ove rall. and Phillips (4-4) and Richardson (5-5) filled out the to p five, Stone (6-6) claimed sixth overall. ove r Trielley (7-7).
