With Pros coming out of Arkansas, Ok lahoma. Texas and Tennessee, the night was qu ickly shaping up to be spectacular. As the 2S0cc Pros watched the gate drop in the firs t mota, Chad Cook's re flexes were fastest. as he nailed the start ahead of Robbie Smith and Josh Weisenfels. As they rounded the second turn aft er the w ho o ps. Smith imm ediately look over and put the ha mmer down. Riding in unfamilia r te rritory, WOReS regular We isenfels too k to the indoor confines wit h confidence and stayed right behind Cook. The trio crossed the check ers in that order. The se co nd mot o was much th e same, as Smith once again got out front and tho roughly trounced the compe titio n. Finishing second in th is mota was Robby McQuarry, just ahead of Coo k. McFly Schee l and Weisenfe ls rounded out the top five. With Smith ta king both motos in 12Scc Pro action as we ll, it looked as if Cook, McQua rry, Schee l and co mpany wo uld have the ir work cut out for th em in th e night 's $3000 C lash For Cash final. When the gate hit the ground , Smith and Cook we re loc ked in a drag race to the first cor ner. Th ey disappeared behind an infield berm , and Co ok blasted back out the other side in charge . Smi th came aro und fo ur t o five seconds be hind the rest of the pack. As Cook looked over his shoulder, he saw a gap back to second . With the lap tim es as sho rt as they we re, time was not going to be kind to Smit h. At the halfway mark . Cook was still leading the pac k. Smith , with his incredible speed, wa s clawing his way up the rungs, trying to catch his fellow Oklahoman. It was n't to be , though , as Coo k took the checke red flag just a few meters ahead of Smith. "The track got pretty rough by the t ime we got to the Clash [For Cash]."
