The top 15 riders in the Mega Series were guaranteed the first spots on the gate, with the remaining gate positions being filled by the top-placing riders of Saturday's qualifier. The staff of Victory Sports had the track groomed to perfection and ready to roll. Just minutes after sunrise, the frost faded and engines fired up as riders began to prepare (or the one-moto-fonnat races (with the exception of the Pro classes, which ran two). Jase Lewis manew ered his H onda into the first turn to garner the holes hot in the 250cc B class, with Chris Le adbeate r and just in Sipes banging bars just inches beh ind him. As the dominating trio took the ir show ahead of the pack, Honda' s Brandon Belcher he ld off Chris Todd for fourth through the first two laps, but on lap t hree Todd took a chance and dived ahead of Belcher. Lewis led across the finish line, with Leadbeater beating Sipes for secon d. Respective posirions went to Todd, Belcher and joey Leadbeater. O range dom inated in t he 32-entry 6Scc (7-9) class, as the top seven winners took the c heckers on KTM s. Colin Thomas quickly gained a sec ure lead and finished in first , followed by Shane McElrath in second. Mason Gragg, Blake Mayo and Lucas Lowe rounded out the top five. Kawasaki jockey Ryan Sipes shine d in the star-studded 250cc Pro class. Sipes' 3· 1 scores earned him the Top Gun title, ahead of the other celebrities:Jacob Saylor(2-2), Kevin Walker ( I-S), Clark Stiles (S-3) and jim Neese (6-4). All the 85cc classes we re full of Top Gun talent . On the heels of his championships from Saturday's com peti tion. Yamaha commander Austin Stroupe once again claimed victories in the 85cc ( 12- 13), 8Scc (9- 13) and Supe rm ini classes. The 8Scc (7-1 I) race featured some of the to p kids fro m across the Unite d Sta tes: Shawn Rife, james Justice and jacob Hayes stood on the Top Gun podium, followed by Co lton Re nake r, Vance Francis, Ta nne r W ilso n and Andrew Langworthy. Full gates were the order of the day at the 17th annual Suzuki Top Gun Showdown . More than 1200 entries w ere tallied over the course of the weekend at Muddy Creek Raceway. Patrick Massie moved into the lead and took the win, with Corey Rankin and Smith sett ling their differences in second and third, respectively. Pade n Ki ng ro de his Lem to victory in the 50cc (7-8) class after a flerce 3-way batt le w ith KTM's Darren Walsh and jessee Walte rs. Ben Richards move d in ahead of Walters to steal th ird just before the last lap. Kingwas crowned Top Gun, and Walsh and Richa rds top ped off the winning trio.
