The Over 40 class alone had 16 entri es . O ne of the m was Jim Thomas, wh o said .. he'd raced the first race there 30 years ago and . by golly, he was going to race the last o ne! He also raced most of them in betw e en. Thom as D avid Eubanks nailed th e holes hot in moto on e , bu t he ha d n' t raced in a w h ile and succu mbed to the charging Thomas. Eubanks (who once owned this trac k for a few years) stayed on Thomas' back fender, waiting for him to ma ke a mistake . It didn't ha ppen: Thomas put his Yamaha across the finish line in front of Euban ks' Honda, with Y aha jockey Bobb y am Bowles taking third. Th omas t ook no c hances in mete two , getting out in fro nt and staying the re, in spite of Eubanks being all over him the who le race . The finish was the same as the first , making the top three overall Thomas, Eubanks and Bowles. David Gall nabb ed th e ho lesho t in mota o ne of the O ve r 30 cla ss . Jo hn Wol f gated sec ond on his Yamaha and held t hat po sition until the chec kers came out; no matter how hard he tr ied, he JU couldn't get around Gall's St Honda. Roy Ho ward rode well to finish third on his Yamaha. Mota two was a repeat perfor mance fo r Gall and Wall. Ho ward , however, didn't race the second mota, which le ft third up lor grabs . James Lalrd didn't complain, as he too k over the po sition and earned th ird ove rall with his 5-3 mo ta finishes. Gall didn' t sto p with his O ve r 30 win. He went on to nab the holeshot and win in both motos of th e Ov er 25 class. The re just didn't see m to be anyone there t hat could stop him. Wolf also ran the Over 25 class, finishing second in moto one and falling to fourth in moto two. His resu lts still gave him t hird overa ll. Dana Fisher stepped in on his Y amaha to take second ove rall with his 3-2 mota finishes.
