T he 2S0c c A rider from Co lorado flogged his Yamaha to limit his losses to a minute and 14 sec o nds in an even t that lasted ro ughty four hours. With the overall points from this event, McDonough is comfortably in first place in his class in t he RMEC for the season. The RMEC's la p rider, Ron Schmelzle, was att endi ng the ISDE, while AA rider Dave Neumeister was sidelined with a broken leg a few days earlier. M www.cycienEWs.co m Bo b by Stark an d the Pe rm ia n Basin Moto rcycle Association laid out roughly S7 miles of trail that included a little single-tra ck and lots of ATV -width trail that still len no room for error. The co urse ran through the lincoln Nat ional Forest, and the trees would reach out and grab any riders who weren't focused. The course was not too technical, so higher speed averages were necessary to allow riders to separate themselves from one another. Unfortuna tely, high speeds combined w ith du st sometimes made t he narrow, rocky trails dangerous.
