In general, the co urse contained a mixture of o pen and tight trails. In the SScc d ivisio n, Ho nda rider Jacob Herr man n gr ab be d th e early lea d . The two were neck and neck until, with T atterson Pads Her Lead RESULTS Jessica Patterson (250) rails the first corner, leading Tarah Gieger (68), Jessica Gebhardt (16) and the rest of the pack, en route to first overall at round five of the AMA/WMA National Championship Series. On lap two, Patterson made up the gap o n Gieger and was all ove r her. Satch we ll continued to mo ve forward and was now o n Gebhard t for third . Bash and Bau w ere battling for fifth. Lap th ree wa s filled with action. Patterso n hun ted down Giege r and took th e lead away fro m her. Sat chw ell co nt inu ed to pressu re Geb hardt and Bau. Then Bau caught a large rock with her eye ; her goggles we re bro ken , she had a fe w stitche s co ming, and her w eekend was over. Giege r stayed on Patterson 's rear fende r. kee ping t he pressu re o n a nd hop ing for a mistake, but Patt e rson pro ved up to the task. taking the win and the ove rall. Gieger w ent 2-2 for secon d. Satchw ell passed Gebhard t on lap four, but Geb hard t kicked it u p a notch and sta yed close to her. Satchwell too k third in the mo t o and t hird overall .
