PHOTOS BY CLAY LIGHT AMA Pacific Northwest Championship Series Round 4 : Washougal Motocross Park Consistency Pays Big for Sullivan By CLAY LIGHT WASHOUGAL, WA, AUG. 29 H o nd a -m o un t e d Rory Sull ivan has pro- gressed upwa rd in the results with each race in the Northwest. and on this day he got an overd ue w in in the 250c( Pro class , at r ound four of the AMA Pacific Northwest Championsh ip Series at Washou gal Motocross Park. Sullivan used 3·2 finishes to lead Brett Boehm and Philip Ehnat overa ll. Oregon's Ryan Huffman was well on his way to victory in the opening 2SOcc Pro -class moto , but with just shy of three laps left, his received the first-place paych eck , w hile Boehm (who, like Sullivan , made the 2S0 cc National grid here se veral wee ks ago) place d second overall w it h a 2-4 score . Ehnat (6- 3), Travis Murphy (4- 6) and Mar k Bunker (5- 7) rounded out the top five. Ehnat and Sullivan tr aded moto win s in a similarly co mpetitive 12Scc Pro class, but this time Ehnat nett ed the overall win after beating Sullivan to th e finish in moto two. Sullivan expended a lar ge amount o f energy in his come-fra m -beh ind moto-one win and just Washington's Dan Moor e was right there to didn 't have eno ugh left to d erail Ehn at' s progress in moto two . Bunker used consistent 3-3 finishes to compl e te the top three, while snatch the victory, w hile Boehm and Sullivan Jo el Ard (S- 4) and Kenny Webster, w ho led rounded out the top three . Moore grabbed the lead at th e start of mote tw o, but he couldn't most of moto one, filled out the top five. Oregon's Adam Metzler was t he dom inant performer in the 12Scc and 250cc B classes . Riding a pair of Suzukis, Metzler won all four motes he e nte red . Fellow RM jockey Todd Nelso n too k th e lead in the first 125cc B moto, but he couldn't hold bac k Metzl er and finished second overall , ahead o f David Coffey, Jon Neimi, Brad Goodson and Ko ry Huffman . Despite the muddy cond itions , se veral classes drew large numbers , including the Over 40 C class.
