IS unday was the second day of the Summer Shoo to ut at Wildcat Cree k MX in Rossville , Indiana. The W ildcat crew again had the track in great sha pe , and su nny and mild cond itions brought out a larger turno ut of 202 riders. Nick Yoder fin ish e d fourth in bo th mo tos on a Mot ople x/ EVS/Act ion Moto r Spo rts Ho nda , ahead of Hon da-mo unted Michae l Heingartner. Koont z finished second to Ho rt on in both 125cc A motes. Yamaha jockey Dale Jessup (4-3) too k th ird , edging out both Brand on Ross (3-4), on a T hro tt le Jockey/Max Pitts/Ame rican Eagle Racing Suzu ki, and Clint Moore, on a Raiso r PowersportslOIl-Road Gro up Kawasaki. Ross edged out Zylstra for second place in the 16-24 class , with Jessup finishing fo urth in both mote s. followed by Heingartn e r. Donald Baker dominated the Over 25 A and Ove r 30 A classes , eas ilywinning all fou r mo tos o n a 5p e ct ro /Shift/O akle y/ Lake City Rac ing Honda. Sean Nolan d finished second to Bake r in all fo ur motos on a Pro Circuit Hon da. Yoder ( 3-4) p laced third in th e O ver 25 A class. Yamaha jockey Jo sep h Be her (S- 3) placed fou rth, followed by Hon da pilot P.J. Loy (4-5). Beh e r (4- 3) finish e d third in th e O ver 30 A class , in front of Loy (3-5 ) and Yamaha pilot Phillip Hardy (5-4). Yamaha rider Dave Hoff had an excellent day, taking all four mota wins in the Over 30 B and O ver 40 classes . In t he O ver 30 B class, Dan Dudley was runner- up on an FMF/Factory C o nne c t io n/ O 'N e al/ Nob lesville H o nd a , followed by Honda jockey Joe Boyden , Yamaha rider Rob Proctor and Kawasaki jockey Scott Do uglas. Bryan Bowen (3-2) finished second in S Mik e Spadafina (900) rode ta 2· 1 sca res far firs t overall in the 12Scc B division at Denmark Spo rts and Competition in Denmork, Wisconsin. Northern Cu p Motocro ss Series Round I I : Sports and Competition Spadafina Spiffy in Denmark Bv PETE EMME DENMARK, WI, AUG. IS N early 400 riders attended ro und I I of t he Northern Cup Motocross Series in De nmark, Wisconsin. Track co nditio ns w ere good, and Mother N atu re provided anothe r per fect day for racing. Matt Mraz too k the first -moto w in in the competitive Sports men B/C class but faltered in the second mote. "I go t a good start in the Sportsmen's class, in the first moto," said Mraz. " I knew if I got a good start. the rest would be easy. My Kawasaki was r unning g rea t, an d I had a clear track in fr ont of me and got the w in." T he second mote didn't go as easily for th e four-stroke rider, as he finished a distant fourth, allowing Yamaha rider Todd Everard to nab th e ove rall with his 3-2 scores. Mraz wou nd up second overall, and And rew Ueders took third wit h his 5-3 ta lly. The 125cc B class was a good one to watch . Mike Spadaflna. Bryon Servi, Brian Collins, Mraz and Jaco b Greate ns all battl ed for the top spot. Tony Kutzler suffered a poo r start and was back in the midd le during the opening lap of the first mo to. Kutz ler picked off riders o ne by one until he sat in fourth at the beginning of the third lap. It looked as t ho ugh 5pa dafi na had the field covered , but Kutzler was still in th e hu nt . mov ing into seco nd wit h a lap re ma ining . Kutz ler then got aro und Spadafina by the triple and took t he checke rs. Spadafina too k a close second, w hile Servl took third. "I had a pre tty bad sta rt; I'm not too goo d on concrete sta rts, " Kutzler said. "I was pre tty far back on the opening lap, and I moved into fou rth pre tty quick. I battled w ith Spadafina for the last two laps and finally got him up to p by the trip le. and fro m th ere I rode my own race to the win."
