On lap two , Ze idler assumed the lead, wit h Kaste n snapping at his hee ls. A bit furt he r back, Ecke s was making his way toward the fron t when his chain snapped exiting tu rn two on lap three . The cha in lay in the racing line , and q uick-thinking t rack officials put o ut t he re d light an d br ou gh t th e field to a ha lt before any more accidents co uld occur. The 16-rider field was now down to I3, and a single-file restart saw Kasten wheeling off the line , but Zeidler gapping him a bit with a better sta rt . Bac k in the pac k, it was a mad das h th rough turn o ne and dow n the backstretch as the riders sorted themselves out , racing three and sometimes four wide . Some how everyone made it th roug h th ose hectic laps and set tled int o t he ir res pe ctive battle s for posftlon . O ut fron t , Zeidler kept the point fro m Kaste n. but with a higher corne r entry, Kasten was lesse ning the d istance between t he m . O n lap eigh t, exiting turn four, Kasten got under Zeid ler and ass ume d t he le ad en ter ing tu rn o ne . Brad Seavers worked his way past Vrana for t hird in the closing laps. Zeidler hugged the bottom and cre pt bac k alongside Kaste n. but he cou ldn't matc h him on the exit, as his rear tire we nt away. Kasten held on for the win. RESULTS a lA: I.
