In semi one, Parsons made a good start and
got the jump on Rafferty, who was unable to get
past alter lour laps 01 trying hard.

great effort from longtime star Lazor, who was
all over Bonsignore for four laps.
The last-chance qualifier looked almost like
a main event, with top guns Estelle, Lazor and
Rallerty lacing 01 against youngster Do nholt !

Estelle used the inside to his adva ntage and
ma de it to the first turn in th e lea d. Lazor
stayed on his whee l lor lour laps, but with slick
track conditions, it was not a night for trying the
outside. Estelle hung on lor the last spot in the
main, and Lazor w as seco nd , w ith Do nholt
third and Rallerty lourt h.
Whe n the to p five ro lled out for the final,
there was a sense t hat the re wou ld be so me
activity at the start, as all fi e are great starters

and were going to go for it. The first try was
he ld up, as the r e I sai d t hat th r ee ri ders
to uched the tapes. Warnings we re issued, and
allwe re called back for a restart .
On the second try, it appeared that Parsons
took down Sep hton as a result of first-corner
bunching; however, Se phton got the short end
o f the stick and was pen alize d 10 yards for
being the cause of the restart.
On the third try, Parsons nailed the start and
was immedia te ly pursu ed by Le ga ult and
Bonsigno re. Sephton got past Estelle , and the
order re mained unchanged until the last lap,
whe n Se phto n parked It, allowing Estelle by.
