was
the domina nt NPro·Sport-dass performer
at the Loretta Lynn's Regional qualifier he ld at
Washougal Motocross Park. Nearly 900 riders
from as far away as Colorado and Hawaii were
on hand, vying for tickets to the " big show"
later this summer. Partridge made the trek fr om
Las Vegas worthwhile by winning the 12Scc A,
12Scc NPro-Sport and 2S0cc/Open NProSport classes on Sunday. His only loss of the
weekend came in Saturday's 2S0cc/Open A
class, where he placed second to Californian
Eric McCrummen. Partridge prevailed in the
opening mota, but the Kawasaki-mounted
McCrummen got the best of the Suzuki-backed
rider in moto two, going 2- 1 to win overall.
Californian Daniel Sani scored an overall win in
the adjoined 2S0cc/Open B Stock class , using
consistent 2-2 placings to lead mota winners
Michael La Paglia and Charlie Morrison overall,
whi le Oregon's Adam Metzler and Tony Sherman rounded out the top five.
Forty-three riders battled f o r the four
tickets to t he Amateur National in the 85cc
(7- 1 I) class , but it was Yamaha rider Landon
Currier who commanded the top position.
Currier took the lead coming out of turn one
in the first moto and never loo ked back. Utah's
Levi Hall and Califomian Austin Howell trailed
Currier in mota one. Currier overcame a
sixth-place start in mota two and won, making
it a I-I sweep for the local rider. Hall (2-3),
Dakota Gamer (S-2) and Alec Watts (4-4) also
earned qualifying positions .
Washington's Josh Hill was again the rider to
beat on both days . Hill was in a class of his own
and dominated the 12Scc (12-1 S) Stock class on
Saturday, easily winning both motos. O n Sunday,
though, Hill trailed the field o f l2Scc B Modified
co mpetitors on t he opening lap and finished
outside of the top five. H ow ever, he did wi n the
12Scc Modified ( 12- 1S) class later that day.
One of the weekend's best battles came in the
2SOcc B Modifted class. Washington riders Kevin
Urquhart and Miles Warren led the 28-rider field
at the start of moto one; Warrenscored the moto
win.
La Paglia and Morrison spent much of the
moto locked in a duel for second place, with La
Pagliagetting the nod. La Pagliawasn't as fortu nate
in moto two, as he was near the tail end of the
pack at the start. Morrison led for much of the
race, although he lost out to Warren on the final
lap and placed second. Warren (I- I), Morrison
(3-2) and Oregon's Kevin Rookstool (4-3) filled
the top three spots.
Kawasaki-mounted Michael Hall was
impressive in Sunday's 105ee Supermini class.
After placing third, be hind Tyler Villopoto and
Tommy Weeck, in Saturday's 8Scc Stock (12-13)
class, Michael rebounded nicely to top both
motes on Sunday. Jos h Huerta trailed Hall in
both motes, although he got a bit of a break
when Danny Gubser t h r e w a chai n while
running second on the final lap. Phil Thorstensen
and Idaho's Kyle Evans followed.
