After a brief break in the action . the green flag flew again . Aga in , N ielsen Enterprises ' Vesnh Suzuki took the lead . Disaster struck, and Velocity Racingwas off the trac k, head ing back to the pits. After analyzing the situation . the Ve loc ity crew decided to go to the backup R I, lo sing the 63 lap s ga ined d uring the first two hours. At halfway, the tw o tight skirm ishes on the track were in the Lig htwe ight Superb ike class and the Middlewe ight Supe rstock class, Bell's Suzuki II held a on e- lap advantage over Dixie Mafia. with Blue Ridge Performance clos ing fast , all SV Suzuk i-mounted . Vesrah continued to pour on the coals, gaining a three-lap advantage over Army du ring the fourth hour. In the Lightweight Superbike class, Dixie Mafia dropped out, and Bell's regained the lead, with Blue Ridge second and Deal's Gap third . While t here se emed to be a numbe r or bike s on the lead lap. it was Buett ner who moto red by Walsdorf as he was coas ting toward the pits . After a cou ple of cups of gas and some forceful kicking, Walsdorf was back on t he track , r unning a half- lap back fro m Bue ttn e r. One lap later. when the white nag came out , it was no surprise that Wa lsdorf could not catch Buett ne r. The real surprise to everyone except Kevin White was that Terlinden's team had qu ietly put down the most laps and took the w in . Watchin~ some of the races , one would swear one was watching the outdoor Nat ionals, what w ith all of the bar-banging going on. Club Mota was the scene of the crime for round six. Cameron Camera put in a good performance to win the overall in both the 125cc and 2SOcc Beginner classes. The Honda rider from Prunedale was on the gas, winning all four motes. Adam Capps , also riding a Honda. was Camera's best competitor in the 125cc class, going 4·2 for second overall. Stephen Tarpley rode his Yamaha to 2-4 finishes to take th ird on the day , In the 2S0cc class, Sonny T Cameron Camera was on his game this weekend, snapping off four moto wins to put the cap on the 12Scc and 2S0cc Beginner-doss wins at round six of the Mutant Motorsparts Spring Series. 40th Anniversary Taylor was chasing Camera for the win and placed second via 2- 3 sco res . Taylor is fro m Oakley and ri des a Kawasaki . Jake Sca llan ro unded out the top three in the 250cc class, fInishing 5·2 on his Yamaha. The 125cc and 250cc Novice-class wins went t o J,J . Karman and Frank Flores. respectively. Karman used 3-1 results to nab the overall on his Yamaha. Honda ride r Colin Clay went 1-3 for second, and Wil McDonough took th ird with 4-4 finishes on his Honda. Flores, riding a Honda out of Castorville, earned his victory with 4-1 moto finishes. Clay again took second on his Honda, finishing ] ·2 on the day. Local boy Travis McRae earned third with 1-4 finishes on his Yamaha. In the fast-paced Intermediate classes, Kevin Hurt and Chris Conley took home the 12Scc
