When the SOc Senior riders went to the c line , all bets were on current District 17 champion Dillon Hall, as the Suzuki jockey has been superfast on the South Fork track . In the first mo ta , Hall didn't let anyo ne down: He was fast o n the track - but not as fast as Brian jeager. Th e local Kawasak i jo cke y is o ne of those ride rs who is just superfast but always seems to be just a little off the pace of the leaders. On this day. he was out to disprove that reputat ion . Jeage r held off Hall for the mota w in. Hall place d second , and Yamaha rider MilesGriffi th was third . In the seco nd mota, Hall we nt to the front and set a blister ing pace . jeager got a horrible start and found himself at the back of the pack, but he set out on a ma rch to ward the front that was tru ly amazing. jeager worked his way through the pack , sometimes passing two riders at a time . However, he could have used one mo re lap ; Hall won the moto and the ove rall, while jeager placed second for second overall. Griffith again finished third in the mota for th ird overall. CBMX Honda rider Joe Patton had a great ride in the 250cc C class. After his first-mota second-place finish, it look ed like Patton was in a pos itio n to wi n overall . When the gate drop ped fo r the se cond moto, Patton found himself at the back of the pack , but he used style and speed to mo ve to ward the fron t of the pack . However, he also cou ld have used ano ther lap to ge t the job do ne : Honda rider Man Springman was out fro nt and gone , taking bo th mo t a wins and t he ov e r all. Pa tto n finished se cond in bo t h motos an d ove rall. Kawasaki rider Cory Farr finished t hird in both motos and overall. The best come-From-behind ride was that of Honda rider Gary Brunner in the Ove r 40 B class. In mota one, Brunner finished second , beh ind KTM rider Mike Uneback . In mota two , all heck broke loose in the first turn ! Brunner and many others hit the gro und. Brunner was the last to get going again, but he marched his CRF toward t he front . On the fourth lap, he had the leaders in his sights • on ly to go down again! Brun ner finished th ird in the mota and second overall. Uneback again took the mota win, and the overall for the day. So what made th is the best "never give up" ride of the day? In the first-turn melee , Brunne r broke his front www.cyclenews.com brake line and rode the entire mota without a front brake!
