are not trials riders and have, since 1974. relied
on only a fe w m embe rs for the setup a nd
r un ning of th e even ts. Ron Snide r and Sonn y

expe rience and perfect tec hnique - and mainly
those who rid e very sma rt - always do we ll
her e. Two such riders, Dave Die hl and jim Fox
(Travis' dad), had a real battle in Sen ior A class.
Rain the nigh t befo re a nd in t he mo rn ing
thankfully stopped before the event but made
the technical sec tions more challenging for the
87 riders in attend ance. This didn't det er Diehl
and jim from posting th e o nly clean loop s in
the ir class, but Diehl made it fo ur o ut of five
perfect laps, losing fo ur mar ks o n his se co nd
loo p to take the wi n by just one mar k. j im
cleaned three out of five loops and too k points
in onty two sections, but a three before the log
in section 12 o n his third loop brou ght the to tal
to five , giving Dieh l the lead for good .
T he Beginner class featu red another close
ba tt le, with Zac h Donnelly and Ca rl Bast ek
posting clean scorecards for the e ntire day, and
only five points sep arated the top seve n ride rs

second-place tr o phy, as he rides along to teach
