And The Xtremey Goe5 To... Impact Video's fourth annual Xtremey Awards Show was held on Tuesday night. April S, at the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana. California. A num ber of well-known and respected current and former racers turned ou t. along with the cream o f the crop in motorcycle and extreme action sports video producers and assorted industry personalities. Hosted by Impact Video's Docy Andrews. several star presenters appeared to hand out awards in various categories nom inated by the staff of Impact Video and voted on by its customers and mo torsports enthusiasts. Legendary off-road truck racer Ivan "Ironman" Stewart and Baja race r Mouse McCoy led off the festivities by presenting the award for Best Off-Road Video of the Year to "Huevos 6:' produced by H-Bomb Prod uctions. The award for Best Off-Road Rider in a Video was presented to jon Guetter for his appearance in "Huevos 6." In the category of Best Moto Competition Video of the Year - presented by freestyle MX star "Cowboy" Kenny Bartram and Alpinestars' front lineman Malco lm McCassy - the winning video was "Inside X: X Games IX: ' produced by Transition Productions. KyleWoods and Drew Stone prese nted the award for Best Freesty le Spo rt bike Video of the Year to ''A Few Loose Screws, " produced by Crazy Dan Productio ns. The award for Best Perfor mance in a Sportbike Video went to O range County's jason Britton for his appearance in "Get On Up." Mark Howard and Gerry Cue llar handed the award for Best Video Soundt rack of the Year to Clutch Films for "50 Nuts ." Clear Chann el Supercross floor announcer Erin Bates and Mike Metzger gave the award for Best MXlFreestyle Video of the Year to Fleshwound Films for "Crusty Demons: 9 Lives." Travis Pastrana was on hand to accept the award for Best Performance in a MX Freestyle Video for his "Travis & the Nitro Circus." The highlightof the evening was when film director Dana Brown, son of On AnySunday produ cer Bruce Brown (w ho recently filmed a surf video titled "Step Into Liquid" and is nearing completion of a new-generation off-road mo torcycle movie called Dust to Glory) • presented an Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award to legendary ski movie pro ducer Warren Miller. Many of the other producers on stage throughout the night alluded to Warre n Miller as having a major influence on their interest in starting the ir filmmaking careers. Impact Video is also active in the action sports market and included awa rds for outstanding videos in the Surf. Skateboard. BMX. Mountain Bike.
