T
he morning rain finally let up as the Open
Superstock riders took their w arm-up lap.
On the start, Mark Junge blasted into t he lead
on his Pire lli-shod Vesrah Suzuki 1000. Shane
Sta yko sh adowed Ju ng e in second , w ith
Reuben Frankenfield third. Four laps in, Robe rt
Je nse n. on t he Yamaha RI, began his march
toward the front . At halfway, Jense n was two
seconds back in second. while the two other
Vesrah teammates , John Jacobi and Tray Batey,
batt le d for third . Exiting the last tu rn , Jensen
powered by Junge to grab his first win of the
day.
Pit Bull's James Strou d, on t he Hon da , led
t he 600 cc Supersto c k Exper t class , w it h
Yamaha-mo unted Bradl ey Champion in second.
By t he third lap, Jensen had moved to th ird.
Vesrah ' s Junge and Jacobi c a m e next . At
halfway, Jens en began to stretch his lead over
Ryan Elleby and Stroud, while Malt Lynn began
a charge throu gh the pack. With two laps to
go , Elleby lost the front of his Honda going into
the chicane. and Lynn shot int o second, wi th
Stroud in third. Jenson took his Michelin-shod
Yamaha R6 to a four-second margin of victory.
"I had to take it easy for the first few laps ,
to see how the track would dry out," Jensen
amaha
said about these tw o victories. "The Y
RI is putt ing out a lot of horse power this year,
an d I cau ght Mar k com ing o ut of the last
corner. I started on the 12th row in the 600cc
race, and I just wante d to feel things out for
the first few laps, stay ou t of t rouble, and I
worked my way throug h traffic."
Ryan Gordon and Brando n Par rish battled
for 10 lap s in the 7S0cc Superstock No vice
final, w hile third was contested by Jason Brown
and Corey Bowen . Gordon held the advantage
on his Michelin/VP Suzuki 750 on the long front
straight aw ay, wh erea s Parr ish, o n the Team
Finis h Line Yamaha 600, wo uld ga in in th e
infield. At the end, Gordon picked up the win,
with Parrish second and Brown third.

Frankenfield kept them honest in third.
Batey charged into the lead in the Unlimited
Fo rmula One final. Lynn took his
Michelin/Embry Racing Suzuki 1000 to second ,
w ith Jense n hot on h is he el s . Jacobi a nd
Frankenfie ld fo llowed . At halfway, Lynn began
to shadow Batey; t hen there was a gap back to
the t hree-way battle among Jensen, Jaco bi and
Franken field. At the white nag, Lynn moved to
Bate y's re ar axle an d st aye d th e re as t he y
bega n to lap traffic. Co ming o ut of the last
corner, Bat ey went a little wide , wh ile Lynn
st aye d low a nd wo n t he d rag rac e t o t he
checkered flag.
"There were two key factors in that race:
being patient and watching," Lynn said. "Tray is
a great rider, so I just watched him, and I knew
my Michelin tires we re good and th ey would
be there at the end when I needed just a little
