start, wi th Hon da ride r Brian Price and Yamaha pilot Cody Alberts blasting into the first tum within inches of eac h oth er. Alberts got the lead position , with Price on his tail, as t he duo approa che d th e rhyth m section. Ro n Nun ley of Flo re nce , Alabama, got off the gate in third place . leader Price took a sudden spill on the second lap but remounted quickly in third, while Alberts and Nu nle y e ngaged in a fierce bat tle for the rem aining two laps. Alberts too k the checkers first , followed by Nunley. Price held third across the finish line. In mete two. Price again nabbed the holeshot. with Alberts , Nunley and Ross Springer following. With the top contenders sailing smoothly across the midtrack camel-back, Alberts gained the lead on lap tw o, and Nunley follow ed in second . Just after the beginning of the th ird lap, Nunley made his move into a co mfortable lead, where he res ided until the checkered flag new. Alberts finished secon d, and Springe r step ped up onto the podium in third place. Yamaha riders Kyle Dangler and Chris Hollingsworth began the first mot o of the 125cc A class in pursuit of the IOO-perce nt payback be ing offered . Dangler won bragging rights for the holeshot , and a back-and-forth batt le ensued durtng the firstlap. Dangle r eventually gained a sizable lead, which he held all the way to a first -place victory. The feud con tinued in moto two . Dangle r bit the dirt after gaining t he lead but quickly re mounted , rem aining in first place and ho lding it to th e che cke rs. Hollingswort h took ho me a second-place trophy. Th e Turne r family o f Pulaski, Te nnessee , too k home an arm load of t rop hies. Co mpeting in he r first race , Terry Ann Turner claimed he r seco nd-place award in the 50cc (4-6) class. Terry Ann's you nger brot her Bleu too k hom e t he first -place award in the same class. Ezra Childe rs placed third. Jo n Shields was second overall, be hind Bleu , in t he 50cc Shaft class. The Turners' older brot her, vetera n rider Gus, left with a first-place victory in t he 65cc (10- 1I) class and a secondplace sco re in the 65cc O pen class.
