The British deal , which was set up by Pirelli's international race manager Eddie Roberts, came to fruition when Robbie Bums, the team owner of the British ViTrans TKR Honda team, was seeking a "yo ung rider familiar with both Honda's C BR600 RR and Pirelli tires" to replace the injure d Paul Young, who broke his arm at the Brands Hatch round. Roberts said that Burns specifically wanted a ride r with a resume like Moore's because "practice time would be limited before the Snetterton round. So a young rider fam iliar with both Honda and Pirelli was most im po rta nt.
