Motocross America For Henry To Troy Lee Team And Honda 2005 The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museu m at the AHA headq uarters in Pickerington, O hio, has announced its next major exhibit. "Motocross America," the first-ever comprehensive perspective of this popular and action -packed sport, debuts March, 200 5, according to the museum. Tracing the evolution of motocross from its 1920s roots in Europe to today's "ext re me" expressions of the sport, including wildly pop ular AMA Superc ross and freestyle events , th is unique exhibit will be designed for the museum's 80oo-square-foo t main gallery. From the famous names and faces that shaped motocross in Amer ica to the machines , technology and gear that helped trans form raw riding talent into World Champions, "Motocross America" will present some of the most adrenaline-charged chapters in American motorcycling history. "Enthusiasts of the sport - past and present - are invited to help tell this amazing story," said Mark Meders ki, executive director, Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. Henry will join the returning jeff Ward , former KTM factory rider Ch ris Fillmore , and Troy Lee in the team that willcontest the AHA series. Henry is a three-time AMA Nationa l Motocross Ch amp ion and a former I25cc East Regional Supe rcross Champ ion. He was also Cycfe News' Rider of the Year in 1998, the year he won his only 250cc Nat ional Motocross crown . "I've been painting Doug's helmets for over IS years, and I'm stoked to have Doug stepping into our gear and onto our team," Lee said in a press re lease. "How coo l is that?" Ward , meanwhile , is a legend of the sport, having won tides in both AHA Motocross and Supercross. He also won the most maineventsin last year 's AHA Supermoto Series and finished third in the series finale in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fillmore, 17, is a former KTM factorybac ked racer who finished second in the Supermoto Unlimited division in 200 3. Craggill Out Of Action Corona Extra Suzuki Superbike rider Marty Craggill, who finished eighth in the first AMA Superbike race at California Speedway on May 3 and crashed out of race two on May 4, has undergone neck surgery and will miss "This museum brings the legends to life," said Ed Youngblood , curator of "Motocross Amer ica." "Inte ractive kiosks and displays will be important components of the installation. Visitors won't just see the machines , gear and memorabilia, but they will be able to feel and sense the action while watching some of the sport's gre atest names race into the history books." In addition , enthusiasts of all ages will have hands-on opportunities to test their virtual racing skills. Like the current exhibit, "He roe s of Harley-Davidson, presented by Progressive Motorcycle Insurance" - which was recently selected as one of the top exhibit designs in the world - "Motocross America " will feature innovative design and use of artifacts to reflect the sport's high energy. "We are designing 'Motoc ross America' to not only capture the sport's rich history, but the vitality and spirit of the people and the industry. The debut of Afte r returning to Australia fo llowing Fontana, Craggill had MXC will take place on Saturday, May 29, during amateur weekend at the Thor High Point National in Mount Morris, Pe nnsylvania. The races will consist of 45-minute motos on a four-mile course that features extensive GP-Iike grasstrack and natural Racer Productions will use the High Point amateur weeke nd to gauge respon se to Moto-X-Country, and it may host additional races under the format in the future . Due to time conflicts w ith the Pro National Motocross practice sched ule, the weekend's Moto-X-Co untry course will not utilize the High Point motocross track, but future eve nts under the format will. Moto -X-Co untry features classes for 50cc bike s all the way up to a Pro class. Racers may enter as many classes as they are eligible for, and the entry fee is $25 per class. Racing runs on Saturday, May 29. Registration begins at 7 a.m., and racing starts at 9 a.m. Up to seven classes will race at one time , with races starting every hou r. Classes w ill start the upcoming event at Infineon Raceway, continuing pain in his neck. Although Xrays revealed nothing, after a week, of persistent discom - fort, a requested CAT scan revealed a fracture in his C6 vertebra. Craggill was admitted for surgery last week, and the vertebra was pinned and a bone graft underta ken.
