Flaggers did t heir best to slow the race rs , but safety concerns briefly brought out the red flag, which slowed som e ride rs and appeared to e nd the N 40th Anniversary race momentarily. However, since only a lap or two remained , and because many riders hadn't yet seen the flag, the race continued. Luckily , the four front-runners - Nathan, Lash, Jean and Miller · were able to kee p the ir ord er and finish the race. Nathan, of course . sco red the overall win through his I-I postings, wh ile Lash, Jean and Miller cla imed second through fourth , respectively.
