laps before glvong w ay to Buckmaster,
both Yamaha riders having t ro uble w ith
traction.
Hacking said he couldn't ge t on the gas
right from the restart. Sp ies wasn't pulling
away, but Hacki ng wasn't closing.
" Lap after lap he wasn't doing anything,
and then I just made a few mistakes, and
the rear end was sliding around," Hacking
said. "I lost it and had to run off the track,
and Bucky got by me, and I got behind
him , and it was just like watching myself.
Both our bikes w e re doing the same
thing, and we just couldn 't d rive ."
Hac king ceded second on t he I I th lap ,
though he kept the heat on, finishing .159
of a second behind Buckmaster.
" It kind of sucks because I thought my
bike was better than anybody's on the
first part of the race, before the red flag."
Hacking said . " It was a struggle getting by
Azza [Aaron Gobert). Those guys jumped
that big gap on me. Once I got by Azz a , I
was the fastest guy out there."
Hacking professed happiness w ith the
machine after the red flag.
"They sa id, 'What do you want to
change?' I said , ' N o thing, it' s good. If you
My
can get another set of tires like that, we'll
be good to go.' "
But he couldn't, so he slid to third.
Teammates Jason DiSalvo and Aaron
Gobert were next along, DiSalvo happy
with fourth and Gobert not happy with
fifth. The Australian said the onset of
warm temperatures just before the race
compromised his setup.

Graves Motorsports Yamaha's Jason DiSalvo was happy with
his fourth-place finish, less than seven seconds behind the
winner. '" just tried to stay consistent every lap lor both
races . and in the end it ended up working out quite well lor
the Superstock," the New Yorker said. "We got up to lourth.
I was happy with that. I'm just glad to get out 01 here with
points ." During the red flag interval, he changed tires and
lound the same consistency as he'd had in the first leg. "It
was working well the whole time ," he said. "I was really
happy with how the bike actually worked during the race
because that was one 01 my biggest issues . I wasn't sure ill
could ride the bike hard lor 17 laps because it was so difficult
to ride. We got a lot 01 stull figured out and made the bike
quite easy to ride and got out there and just went with it."

A change in temperature caught Aaron Gobert out . As the
mercury rose, his setup became less viable, and he was
lorced to struggle to the end. '"
was fighting it; I was totally
fighting it. We thought it was the
tire ," he said 01 the time
between races, "so we put on
one that was exactly the same ,
but it was the same thing. It was
the only tire that would work
lor us all weekend. We weren't sure that would last, the soft,
and the hard one wasn't working either. "
