LEAVE THE GRIITn BEHIlrn Chad Dubroc (226) topped the 125cc Novice class a t round th ree of th e SRMA Winter Series in Fernwood, Mississ ippi. On his Champion Cycle KTM. Adam Hancoc k was the first leader of the 12Scc Mo ney class. The n Dust in Manuel too k ove r on his N2Gear/D&L KX I2 S, with his o lder brother Jaso n nipping at his heels . The two siblings engaged in their own race for a co uple of laps, but they became so focused on eac h other that they lost track of Hancock. w ho too k an o ppo rt unity to slip by un notice d. Ty Smit h came up fro m behind and picke d off Jason to take th ird . Smith motored his Honda 2S0 F arou nd Dustin whe n he got his 125 in a so ft outsi de line. Han cock t a llie d a DNS in the seco nd mo t o , so Du sti n jumped out to an early lead, w ith Jason in second and Smith in thir d. Th is time , Jason played offense and defense for four laps as he went to work on his brother. On the fifth lap. Smith got between them for second, but he couldn't outflan k Dustin, wh o held off Smith for the win. T he Open Intermed iat e clas s had no slo w riders. Tyler Hancock took his KTM into the early lead. The n Corey A1tazi n t oo k ove r until he w e nt down. Tyler got the lead ba ck but cou ldn't rest , due to th e cha rge of Jo hnny Moore. The tw o Mississippians due led all the way to the finish line for a photo finish, w hich Tyle r wo n. Larry Hayes and AJtazin re presented Louisiana in third and fou rth . " I knew he was the re , but I didn't know about tha t inside rut up the finish-line jump ," Tyler said w hen aske d how Moore got so close at the finish line. "I'll be ready next moto." Hayes took his H&S Honda 4S0F into the lead early in the sec o nd moto , with A1tazin running second. Moo re, re covering from a slow sta rt , clawed his way past the Lousiana riders and into th e lead , finally w inning a mota on his GotGea rjRacca Kawasaki. A1tazin placed his Ho nda in second, in fron t of Hayes and Tyler. Ch ad Dubroc overcame a bad start in the first 12Scc No vice moto and wo rked his way up to second by the end of the first lap , behind Westlake 's Mich ae l Wagne r. D ub ro c st ud ie d Wagner's lines and then completed the pass o n lap three afte r amaha several atte mpts. Breaux Bridge's Bryce Landry kept his Y in t h ird, be hind Dub ro c an d Wa gner. all the wa y to th e checkers. In the second moto of the Schoolboy class, Dubroc jumped o ut ea rly, but Jo hnny Moo re came up beh ind to make it a race. Each time Moore got close , Dubr oc pulled away.
